How to Add a Package in WHM

To add a new package in WHM, you’ll use the Add a Package interface. Packages are essential in WHM as they define the limits and features for a cPanel account, such as disk space, bandwidth, number of email accounts, and other resources.

Step 1: Log in to WHM

Access your WebHost Manager (WHM) panel. You must have root or reseller access to perform this action.

Step 2: Navigate to “Add a Package”

In the WHM search bar on the left, type “add a package” and click on the Add a Package option under the Packages section.

Step 3: Configure the Package

On the “Add a Package” page, you will fill out the details and set the resource limits for your new package.

  • Package Name: Choose a clear and descriptive name for your package (e.g., Basic_Hosting, Pro_Plan_10GB).
  • Resource Limits: Set the limits for your package. You will need to specify values for:
    • Disk Space (MB): The total disk space for the account.
    • Monthly Bandwidth (MB): The total bandwidth the account can use.
    • Max FTP Accounts: The maximum number of FTP accounts.
    • Max Email Accounts: The maximum number of email accounts.
    • Max Mailing Lists: The maximum number of mailing lists.
    • Max Databases: The maximum number of MySQL databases.
    • Max Subdomains: The maximum number of subdomains.
    • Max Addon Domains: The maximum number of addon domains.
    • Max Parked Domains: The maximum number of parked domains.
  • Settings: You can also choose which features and cPanel options to enable or disable for this package.

Step 4: Save the Package

After you have filled in all the required fields and customized the settings, click the Add button at the bottom of the page to save the new package. It will now be available for you to assign to new or existing cPanel accounts.
