How to Change IP Address of a Site in WHM
To change a single site’s IP address in WHM, you must have root access to the server. The process involves using the Change Site’s IP Address tool within the Account Functions menu.
Step 1: Log in to WHM and Access the Tool
- Log in to your WebHost Manager (WHM) as the root user.
- In the search bar on the left, type “Change Site’s IP Address” and click on the corresponding result under the Account Functions section.
Step 2: Select the Account
On the “Change Site’s IP Address” page, you’ll see a list of all accounts on your server. You can use the search feature to quickly find the specific account you want to modify. After locating it, click the Change button next to the account.
Step 3: Assign a New IP Address
A new page will appear, showing the account’s current IP address. From the “New Address” dropdown menu, select a new IP address to assign to the site. It’s important to note that changing the IP address may cause the site to appear down for some users until the DNS has fully propagated across the internet. After selecting the new IP, click the final Change button to apply the update.
