How to delete an email account on cpanel
Deleting an email account in cPanel is a permanent action that removes the email address and all its associated data, including all emails stored on the server. Because of this, it is crucial to back up any important emails before you proceed.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to deleting an email account on cPanel:
Step 1: Log in to cPanel
First, access your cPanel account. You can usually do this by going to yourdomain.com/cpanel
and entering your username and password.
Step 2: Navigate to “Email Accounts”
In the cPanel dashboard, find the Email section. Click on the Email Accounts icon.
Step 3: Find the Email Account You Want to Delete
On the “Email Accounts” page, you will see a table listing all the email addresses on your domain. Locate the specific email account you wish to delete.
Step 4: Click the “Manage” Button
Next to the email account you want to remove, click the Manage button.
Step 5: Confirm and Delete the Account
On the account management page, scroll all the way to the bottom. You will see a section for deleting the email account.
- Click the Delete Email Account button.
- A confirmation message will appear, warning you that this action is permanent and all data will be lost.
- Click Delete again to confirm.
After you confirm, cPanel will permanently remove the email account and all its associated data from the server. The process is irreversible, so ensure you have a backup of any messages you need to keep.
