Enabling Symlink Protection in WHM is a security measure that helps protect your server from malicious users. According to the article, this is done by enabling the “Jail Apache” feature.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to WHM as the root user.
- In the WHM search bar, navigate to Service Configuration and click on Apache Configuration.
- Click on Global Configuration.
- Find the Symlink Protection option and select the radio button for “On”.
- Click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.
- Finally, click “Rebuild Configuration and Restart Apache” to apply the changes.
This process will enable Symlink Protection, which helps reduce kernel vulnerabilities by preventing users from accessing files outside of their designated home directories.
